About Salarium
Salarium is an independent, free net-salary calculator run by the Salarium team. Our goal is to answer one question clearly — “how much actually lands in my pocket?” — for Quebec, France and the United States, with no sign-up and no collection of your salary data.
How the calculations work
Each country has its own calculation engine, built from the official 2026 rate schedules. Results are estimates based on standard assumptions: they replace neither a payslip nor professional tax advice — the same disclaimer appears at the bottom of every page.
Quebec (Canada)
Full bracket-based calculation: federal tax (with the Quebec abatement), Quebec tax, QPP (both tiers), EI (reduced Quebec rate) and QPIP. Assumptions: single filer, basic personal amounts, no special credits.
France
Net before income tax, estimated from average employee contribution rates per status (non-cadre, cadre, public service). Actual rates vary with collective agreements and health plans: this is an estimate, not a payslip.
United States
Federal bracket tax (single filer, standard deduction) plus FICA contributions (Social Security and Medicare). State income tax is not included — it ranges from 0% to about 13% — and each page says so.
Rate verification
Rates are reviewed manually against the official sources above at every annual update, and again during the year whenever a source changes. Last verification: . That date is shown on every calculation page and comes from a single constant in the engine — it is never generated automatically.

Protection of personal information
The calculator keeps no salary data: the amounts you enter are used for the calculation and then gone, never stored. The only personal information the site collects is the email address you choose to leave in the newsletter form — kept for 24 months at most, never shared with a third party, and deleted if the newsletter has not launched by then.
